The Barnaba Institute is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness about human trafficking as it pertains to sexual exploitation through education and media; to provide professional training courses on how to identify human trafficking victims and to provide support, guidance and care to sexually exploited and trafficked youth and adults.
About the Barnaba Institute: The Barnaba Institute was co-founded in November 2006 by Frank N. Barnaba, President, who has thirty years of experience in the anti-trafficking field. Read more about Mr. Barnaba.
Programs run by the Barnaba Institute include education, public awareness, professional training seminars and outreach to at-risk, sexually exploited and trafficked youth and young adults. Read more about our programs or download information.
The Barnaba Institute is funded through several grants including the Ittleson Foundation, the Body Shop Foundation and the State of Connecticut's Office of Victim Services, but mostly through individual donors like you. Your generosity is very important in the Institute's campaign against human trafficking in the U.S.

Board Member, Kimberly Bon Vecchione, tells the story of her daughter, Cas:
"Some of my emotional scars remain, and to this day, I struggle with my shame, and
more than anything else, a feeling that no one will ever want me because of my past. My
dreams still haunt me and I’m back with [him] and back on the street. I wake up so thankful
to Frank, with the realization that I’ve left that life for good." Read more about Sabrina's story...
Our Work with the Covenant House: The Barnaba Institute is working with Covenant House International to train their outreach staff on how to identify human trafficking victims and address their unique mental health concerns. Barnaba Institute staff have trained Covenant House Philadelphia and Atlantic City to great success. Our current plans are to train an additional three to four Covenant House locations by the end of 2010.
If you would like to purchase a copy of the training video/documentary that the Barnaba Institute produced and is using in its training seminars to the Covenant House, please visit the B.I. Store.
